Persons of Influence takes cognizant of the Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) barriers School-aged girls in remote parts of Nyandarua grapple with as they lack the necessary facilities, supplies, knowledge, and understanding of menstruation and the menstruation cycle. This has an ultimate negative impact on the girls’ access and retention in school.
Today, 30 girls from Njabini were trained on how to make reusable sanitary pads from safe and locally available materials and menstruation cycle tracking bracelets. The fun filled training saw everyone sew their own sanitary pad and bracelet from scratch.
How We Solve This Project
To ensure safe and effective Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), we collaborate with local partners and health experts who guide us in identifying the right materials, techniques, and best practices for making reusable sanitary pads.
